Move over New York, Sussex is the place to be this Christmas.

During the winter months the beautiful county of Sussex quite literally lights up. From the Brighton pier adorned in festive lights to the Christmas trees that become centre pieces of towns and villages dotted around Mid Sussex.
Here are some of the events not to miss in Sussex this Christmas:

Ice Skating at the Pavilion in Brighton
Daily until 2nd January
Drusillas Winter Wonderland illuminations with themed light show synchronised to music.
Every Saturday and Sunday throughout December
Santa's Grotto at South Downs Nurseries and Garden Centre in Hassocks.
18th November - 24th December
Transport yourself to a Bavarian village in the North Laines Jubilee square where you'll find Christmas chalets selling handcrafted gifts and food.
26th December
Haywards Heath Town's lights switch on and Santa arrives in The Orchards!
30th November - 1st January
Brighton's professional pantomime returns with 'Beauty And The Beast'.
2nd - 4th December
Over 80 imaginative creations fill Holy Cross Church in Uckfield at the Festival of Christmas Trees.
